MARGAO
The 1st All Goa Inter Village Mansion House Cup 2025 witnessed a pulsating clash on Sunday evening, as Shiroda Youth Club overcame a spirited fightback from St Rock Youth Club, Majorda to secure a 3-2 victory at the Cuncolim Ground.
Shiroda stamped their authority early, with Chetan Gaude heading in from a corner in the 10th minute before Royston Vaz doubled the lead midway through the first half. The Majorda defence struggled under sustained pressure, allowing Shiroida to carry a 2–0 cushion into the break.
The second half, however, turned on its head as Ashley Rodrigues produced a dazzling two-minute double (43′, 46′) to haul Majorda level and ignite the contest. With both sides creating chances, it was Shiroda’s Ravindra Gaude who delivered the decisive blow in the 58th minute, blasting home the winner.
Majorda pressed hard in the closing stages through Filbert Pereira and Dylan Godhino, but Shiroda’s backline held firm to clinch the result. Rodrigues’ brace earned him the Mansion House Man of the Match award, presented by Joe Dias of VJT Arts.
The tournament continues Monday at 4.30 pm., with Betalbatim Sporting Club taking on Arlem Youth Association at the same venue.
