PANAJI: Riding on a fluent century by Shaantanu Nevagi, Goa posted 286 all out in 85.5 overs in their first innings against Jammu & Kashmir in the Colonel C.K. Nayudu Elite (Under-23, Four-Day match) Tournament. At stumps on Day One, Jammu & Kashmir were 10 for no loss in 2 overs at the Hostel Ground in Jammu.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Goa had a shaky start. Aditya Kota (20) and Sarthak Bhike (0) were dismissed early, while Yash Kasvankar (5) also failed to convert his start. However, Shaantanu Nevagi steadied the innings with a composed yet attacking knock of 104 runs off 131 balls, striking 18 boundaries.
Nevagi found good support from Chittem Jeevankumar (47) and Dishank Misquin, who remained unbeaten on 49. Kaushal Hattangadi contributed 22 runs, but the lower order could not add much as Goa were bowled out for 286. Extras contributed 18 runs.
For Jammu & Kashmir, Vishal Kumar was the pick of the bowlers with 6 for 90, while Sarvashish Singh claimed 3 wickets and Basit Bashir picked up one.
In reply, Jammu & Kashmir made a cautious start, reaching 10 without loss in 2 overs. Basit Nazir was unbeaten on 9, while Aakash Bhat was on 1. Yash Kasvankar and Anuj Yadav bowled one over each for Goa.
