Defying all odds, Johnny D’Souza, a 41-year-old athlete from Goa, made the nation proud by clinching the silver medal in the Athletic Physique (Under-70 kg category) at the 15th South Asian Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championships 2025, held in Thimphu, Bhutan.
This prestigious event, organized by the Fitness International Federation (FIF), brought together 167 top athletes from across South Asia and beyond. Johnny’s incredible performance stood out in a fiercely competitive field, earning him and the country a place on the podium.
Johnny was trained under the expert guidance of Coach Khushali Virdikar at Pitbull Gymnasium, Margao. His achievement is a testament to years of dedication, discipline, and passion for the sport.
This victory is a significant moment for Team India (IBBF) and the Goa Bodybuilding and Fitness Association. The Indian team was led under the leadership of IBBF President Swamy Ramesh and Secretary General Chetan Pathare.
The Goa contingent received strong support from Chief Patron Digambar Kamat (Margao MLA), Chairman Yogiraj Kamat, and President Sanjay Raikar, along with the dedicated team of the Goa Bodybuilding and Fitness Association.
This championship was not just a contest—it was a grand showcase of strength, discipline, and the indomitable spirit of fitness, featuring top athletes from across South Asia competing in various bodybuilding and physique categories.
