The Anil Kamat Memorial Tournament, organized by Enfermos Sports Club, witnessed an exciting clash between Cuncolim Union and United Boys of Ambaulim at the Chinchinim Church Ground on Saturday.
The match kicked off with high intensity as both teams came out with intent and energy. In the 10th minute, Cuncolim Union’s Daulat Dessai unleashed a powerful strike, but the United Boys goalkeeper responded with a sharp save to keep the score level.
United Boys of Ambaulim looked threatening throughout, with Alex Fernandes and Savlion Fernandes orchestrating several attacking moves. Their persistence paid off in the 32nd minute when Savlion Fernandes found the back of the net to break the deadlock and give his side a 1–0 lead.
Cuncolim Union pressed for an equaliser in the second half and created a number of chances, but they were consistently denied by a resolute defence and some brilliant goalkeeping, particularly during a tense corner in the final quarter.
As the match drew to a close, Sowell Fernandes delivered the knockout blow, scoring the second goal for United Boys of Ambaulim to seal a deserved 2–0 win.
