Current Nuvem and former Benaulim MLA has more often been inthe news for wrong reasons.
The USA-returned Mickky Pacheco, who has won over five termsand has beaten political bigwigs like Churchill Alemao and Alexio Sequeira isknown for his assaults and bad temper.
Convicted in three separate cases of assault against publicservants, Mickky has been handed a punishment of two years and three monthsimprisonment. The hearing of these cases is presently going on in High Court.
Recently Mickky was once again in the news for assaulting,one Danny Fernandes at Seraulim.
“Danny was dodging and trying to block my car fromovertaking for more than a kilometer. Just because I lowered my car window andquestioned and questioned his action, he abused me,” Pacheco said.
Pacheco had helped Danny a few years back to start a shackin a private property.
“Recently I had blocked his permission for a shack as he wasinvolved in drug trade. That is why he assaulted me and fractured my finger,”argues Mickky.
“People know me for the work I do and not for what I say. Ican’t tolerate lies and injustice. In this case, I was calling the cops and inthe bargain they broke my finger. I am the most approachable MLA,” the NuvemMLA said.
Goa Vikas Party General Secretary, Lyndon Monteiro, was morespecific.
“I must agree that Mickky’s biggest enemy has been histemper issues. But Mickky has matured and calmed down to a great extentcompared to what he was in 2002, when he just entered politics,” Lyndon said.
Lyndon points out that the rich or the poor always come tohim in times of trouble. Mickky has all the time and patience in the world tolisten to others’ problems.
Colva Deputy Sarpanch, Calvert Fernandes begs to differ.
Calvert who worked as Mickky’s Personal Assistant for almosttwo years explains that Mickky was selfish in his childhood and comes from apoor family with improper love from his parents.
Calvert believes that Mickky’s anger and temper is a defensemechanism since he is always frightened and insecure.
Former Betlbatim sarpanch and office assistant, MarcusD’Souza pointed that Mickky suffers from mood swings and OCD for women andmoney.
“In 2002 Mickky was flush with funds, a reason why he wonelections. But subsequently we realized that Mickky’s American interest andbusiness was a farce. Everytime Mickky goes broke he gets angry,” Marcus said.
“Mickky is nice when he has money and angry like a ragingbull when he is broke. He currently has huge debts and owes barge owners fromwhom he borrowed money this election,” he added.
Colva Sarpanch Snowkon Gonsalves says that Mickky isgenerally cool headed and listens to what others have to say especially when itcomes to development but is an angry man and generally yells when other peopleuse wrong means.
