Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) celebrated 80th Foundation Day on Fridaythroughout India. In Goa also IOB celebrated by organising various functions at all its branches.

Bank’s Chief Regional Manager of Goa RegionAnand Bhandiwad, inaugurated the function at Panaji and participated in various programmes at Ponda, Mapusa and Borim. During his inaugural address Anand Bhandiwad mentioned that the IOB, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), undertakes a mammoth task of 1,00,000 tree plantation programme, as a part of Green India movement Pan-India to mark 80th Foundation Day of the Bank. He also elaborated the giant stride made by the Bank from brick and mortar branches to the level of offering digital banking services. He explained about various digital products launched by the Bank as a part of Digital India programme of Government of India.

In Goa, the Bank organised tree plantation programme at various centers through its branches. Through the programme, free saplings were distributed to customers, local schools and panchayats.

Free medical check up camps were organised at Panaji and Mapusa branches in co-ordination with Apollo Munich Health Insurance and Manipal Hospital.

Bank’s staff members from its Regional Office, Panaji hosted lunch for the inmates at “Mathru Chaaya” an orphanage at Ponda and for inmates at Sneha Mandir, an old age home at Ponda.
