Mahindra sales rise 14% to 41,863 units in April

New Delhi

Auto major Mahindra & Mahindra Monday reported a 14 per cent rise in total sales to 41,863 units in April.

The company had sold 36,727 units in the same month last year.

In the domestic market, sales were up 14 per cent at 39,357 units last month compared with 34,467 units in April 2015, M&M said in a statement.

Exports surged 11 per cent to 2,506 units during the month as against 2,260 units in April last year, it added.

Sales of passenger vehicles, including Scorpio, XUV500, Xylo, Bolero and Verito, also rose by 16 per cent at 22,655 units from 19,464 units in the same month last year.

Commercial vehicle sales rose 14 per cent to 12,947 units last month as against 11,329 units in the year-ago period, M&M said.

New DelhiHinduja Group flagship company Ashok Leyland today reported 21 per cent increase in total sales at 10,180 units last month. It had produced 8,435 units in the April of last year. Sales for its heavy and medium commercial vehicles increased 20 per cent at 7,871 units in April as against 6,549 units in the year-ago period, the company said in a filing to BSE.
