Carlos gives Ticlo taste of bitter medicine

Carlos gives Ticlo taste of bitter medicine

Congress MLA Carlos Alvares-Ferreira recently rippedthrough the false bravado of his rival in Aldona, the former BJP MLA Glenn Ticlo and gave the latter a low down of how to behave as responsible public representative.

It all started after Ferreira made an announcement that the government had approved work for underground power cabling in Aldona and the project would start soon after the monsoon.

Probably unable to digest that an opposition MLA could get such a big project approved in the constituency, Ticlo held an impromptu media briefing countering the Aldona MLA’s assertion and claimed the underground cabling project was actually initiated during his term and the MLA was taking unjustified credit for it.

A cool cat that he is and a shrewd advocate to boot, Ferreira took his time and got all relevant information in black and white and only then lambasted his predecessor's claim.

He circulated to journos at a presser a document signed by the Executive Engineer of the power department where it was clearly stated that there was no proposal of underground cabling moved or even sanctioned during Ticlo’s term as an MLA of Aldona.

Before coming out with a public statement, responsible public representatives should study the matter properly and refrain from spreading lies, was Alvares' terse advice to his predecessor.
