The District Election officer (South Goa) conducted various programmes like street plays at 4 locations in each assembly constituency of Mormugao Taluka on Thursday to create an awareness
among voters.
A Program ‘Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation’ (SVEEP) was formed with a message “A strong way to strengthen the democracy”.
Mormugao Mamlatdar Satish Prabhu is one of the officers Incharge of creating awareness programs through SVEEP.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Prabhu said the Election Commission of India had ensured that a lot of facilities were provided and electoral awareness camps were held to ensure that voting becomes an inclusive process and not a single person is left out to vote in the upcoming elections.
“We have taken street plays today in different locations like Sada in Mormugao Constituency, Fish Market in Vasco, Dabolim and Cortalim. We want that an awareness is created and people come out in huge numbers to vote. This is an effort of ECI that everyone should exercise their constitutional right to vote. We want that all efforts are put to have a large turnout of voters for the elections,” said Prabhu.
