The AAP said on Monday, the name of one of their candidates from Vasco, Loretta D’Souza had been omitted in the final list of candidates contesting the legislative assembly elections.

“Loretta D’Souza is one of the several star candidates from AAP’s list of candidates. AAP has learnt that Loretta D’Souza’s name is mischievously and malafidely omitted from the constituency-wise list circulated to the media by the Department of Information. The certificate (Form 7A) issued by the Returning Officer, confirms that Loretta D’Souza e Sreedharan is the AAP candidate in Vasco constituency,” said the AAP state office in a statement.
D’Souza according to the party is an IRS cadre officer and has put in over three decades of service in the Central Excise & Customs. She is also an international hockey star and has represented India on the global stage multiple times.
“Despite several written complaints by AAP to the offices of Chief Electoral Officer, Altinho, as well as the Chief Election Commissioner, Delhi, no tangible action is forthcoming from this Constitutional Office to correct course and ensure a level playing field,” they said.
AAP has said they would officially lodge a complaint with the Election Commission of India citing this malafide act of the State machinery.
