The mini express’ Chetali Bhandari of Dnyan Prabodhini Mandal’s Shree Mallikarjun College, Canacona won accolades for Goa in the West Zone National Athletics Championship held at Raipur, Chattisgarh. Chetali secured two silver medals in 1500 mtrs and 3000 mtrs each. Her college mate and practice partner Alisha Velip followed suit with a bronze in 3000 mtrs.
Chetali Bhandari known as ‘the mini express’ has won all the major races in Goa. Trained under the watchful guidance of the veteran athlete himself, Savio Leitao the sports director of Shree Mallikarjun College, Chetali Bhandari expressed gratitude towards her coach and thanked the Goa University for the opportunity given to participate on behalf of the state. She was keen to express that the Athletics Association of Goa was supportive in providing guidance as well as creating opportunities for the athletes in the State.
