End terrorism
After the second world war the four 'Allies' that fought against Germany -England,France,USA and the Soviet Union (USSR) divided Germany into four occupation zones. Sharp differences of opinion between the three western powers and the Soviet Union led to the foundation of the NATO 1949 and the formation of two German states, the FRG (Federal Republic of Germany) and the GDR (German Democratic Republic). The Cold War began with the enemies constantly threatening the use of atomic weapons. After 1980s the Cold War ended, the two German nations got unified, and the USSR split. But the Cold War did not end suddenly. It came about through the actions of Mikhail Gorbachev, the President of USSR. He started the policy of glasnost (openness) and perestroika (restructuring). Social issues could be discussed openly the state stopped controlling the economy, and the countries of the East the Block like Poland and Hungary got much more freedom from the USSR as compared to earlier times. In 1991 Gorbachev and then US President George Bush signed a first agreement that both will destroy their atomic weapons. The Cold War was technically over after this agreement.
Now time is come to stop the Terror War, there are so many terror attacks happening in this civilized world. Terrorism kills more people than wars. Recent attacks by ISIS in Paris where hundreds of people were killed and seriously injured. Innocent people are the victims of terrorism. All the nations of the world should unite, forget all the differences and fight a battle against terrorists.

Stage losing sheen
Those different gifts that the human beings have received from God are to be used to make this world a better place to live in. It is very very sad to see some of our tiatrists carrying a dhobi stone to wash the soiled clothes of our brethren. It’s high time that our so called Gonvlii bap, instead of having banquets for politicians, should call the whole tiatr fraternity over to his place and as a good shepherd advise them to act more like good Christians than barbarians. However very bad a person bay be, nobody can hurt others in an open auditorium. It is a shame to see our Konkani stage going down. Our old actor with very little education made their plays and sons immortal. All our present plays are based on family affairs. No one from the tiatr fraternity can write songs on other better and memorable events?

The other day, I visited Candolim somewhere between 11 am and 11.30 am. It was really shocking to find stray cattle roaming around, not only on the beach, but almost every place I visited. One can find stray cattle outside supermarkets, street corners, outside hotels, near garbage bins, etc. All these sites really don't project Goa as a high-end tourist destination. But in spite of this, one can see tourists flocking to this coastal heaven. But I'm sure in the long run Goa's tag as one of the top tourist destinations is taking a beating. Days are not far when we will be left with only stray cattle and dogs roaming around. It's time the government stops making grandiose claims of Goa being a top destination and get its house in order if it wants tourism to survive and thrive.
