The New Year celebrations may be long over, but our Goan beaches have been facing the brunt. As many tourists from different parts of the country enjoyed their New Year in Goa, it was sad to see the garbage they left behind - left over food, beer bottles and beer cans, plastic bags, empty cigarette packs, gutka packs and other waste littered the beaches in Goa. Many started their first day of the New Year by breaking beer bottles on the beach - an extremely dangerous trend as it can cause injuries to others visiting the beaches. I am not against enjoyment but we should all know how to keep our country clean. As our state is a tourist state and many tourists visit from different parts of the world, it's our state government's responsibility to clean the mess on the beaches in Goa. I request our Tourism Minister and our Goa state government, the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to take necessary steps to clean the mess left behind on Goa's beaches as soon as possible. If required keep more dust bins across the beach side in Goa. Please keep our Goa clean.
