Public safety

In Ponda, we come across exposed transformers at vrious locations. With lack of suitable locking system, the door of these transformers remains open proving dangerous for precious lives. There is every possibility of innocent children coming in contact with live electrical wires which could be fatal. The transformer adjacent to Shree Vithoba temple at Upper Bazaar in Ponda has been found in exposed condition for quite  some time. The door of this transformer has been tied with a string. Further, as on Sunday January 28 at 8 am, a transformer near Coelho apartments behind old bus stand in Ponda was seen lying open (see pic). Many pedestrians proceed along this busy location. Considering the seriousness of this matter, it is time for the higher officials at the electricity department in Ponda to see to it that all transformers are provided with a proper locking system so that the door of the transformer remains safely locked. This would certainly assure safety to one and all. Let us hope that prompt favourable action would follow in this direction in public interest.
