Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar spoke at the inauguration of State Road Safety Week about the increase in traffic violations and fines imposed but that there are repeated offenders and nothing seems to change for them.
In order to inculcate discipline, the government should seriously think about introducing a point system for every violation and suspension of the driving licence after maximum points of violation have been accumulated.
Secondly, The Chief Minister also said that we need to follow the good practice followed by people in the West “ when they go for a party they decide among themselves that one person will not drink, that it is his responsibility to drop the others home safely after the party.
Keeping in mind the Goan crab mentality, it would be very good if the government goes all out to introduce the app-based taxi system immediately in Goa. I hope the Chief Minister will think about this seriously thus helping the consumer pay as per the meter and ensuring that party goers reach home safely and without being cheated.
