Work for welfare, not for credit

Recently Ponda MLA Ravi Naik and PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar crossed swords at the launching of hot-mixing of roads in Ponda. Ravi asked Sudin as to why he came for the inauguration of small work and advised him to undertake bigger works like construction of bridges and highways.

Sudin in his turn stated that hot-mixing of road is indeed a big work and that crores of rupees would be spent on hot-mixing internal roads as well. According to Ravi, the hot-mixing works were tendered last year only due to his personal efforts. Above all, it doesn’t matter who shoulders the task of executing developmental works.

What is more important is achieving development at any jurisdiction, thereby assuring better conditions to one and all. There are various social issues that needs to be addressed in the interest of innocent citizens. Of course, a dedicated, sincere and promising individual would never take credit for work done by him for society at any instance. On the contrary, he would continue working for the people by considering it a way of his life. It is very much essential that politicians work tirelessly for upliftment of society and not take credit for themselves in any matter. Let us hope that better sense prevails in this matter in days to come.
