Fatordekars in UK hold annual dine, dance

The United Goans of Fatorda (UGF) UK organised its third annual dine and dance at St John’s Community Hall, Wembley-UK on October 11.

The event, which was hosted to celebrate the feast of the Our Lady of Rosary Church at Fatorda, was managed by UGF President Alvito Dias, Vice-President Bosco Ribeiro, and Treasurer Lino Fernandes. A number of Fatordekars along with fellow Goans were present at the annual dine and dance. 

The event with a procession and litany in Konkani, followed by the cutting of the birthday cake of Mother Mary. 

There was wide line up of entertaining performances, which included the young Goan band ‘One Touch Rhythm’.  The dance floor was kept busy by DJ Jonathan and his daughter DJ Jonaisa. People were also entertained by the singing sensation Polly de Curtorim, as all musicians belted out scintillating music. 

The event was compered by a young and dynamic Fatordekar MC Anthony Miranda and young debut Fatordekar, MC Joraisa Ribeiro. Both hosts kept the audience entertained with variety of spot prizes. 

Social worker Joyce made a special guest appearance, while Janice Afonso later proposed the vote of thanks.
