MELBOURNE
The Goan-Indian community in Adelaide proudly organised the Feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour at Kingscote on Kangaroo Island, South Australia on July 5, marking the first time this feast was celebrated together with the local Kangaroo Island community.
The event brought together 57 pilgrims who travelled by bus from Adelaide and around 60 local residents from Kangaroo Island, a total of 150 faithful. Around 30 dedicated volunteers and their families worked tirelessly to organise the celebration.
The Holy Mass at 11.30 am was celebrated by Fr Lancy D'Silva, Dean and Administrator of St Francis Xavier Cathedral, Adelaide, who was the main celebrant. He was joined by Fr Santosh Nazareth, Fr Francis Showrie, and Fr Arul Dev.
Following the Mass, a community lunch was served to everyone present, reflecting the warmth, generosity and hospitality of the Goan Indian community.

This celebration was supported through funds raised during the São João celebration held at St Francis of Assisi Church, Newton, in June, highlighting the unity and commitment of the Goan Indian community.
The organisers have expressed their gratitude to all volunteers, donors and participants for the success of this historic celebration on Kangaroo Island.
