Goa’s first and only lifestyle magazine, Viva Goa recently hosted the Goa launch of journalist and bestselling author, Rajdeep Sardesai’s book 2019: How Modi Won India published by Harper Collins India. The event was held at Cidade de Goa. The book launch was attended by special guests Bollywood actress Pooja Bedi, industrialist Shrinivas Dempo, professor Nandini Sardesai, author Rajdeep Sardesai and editor and publisher of Viva Goa magazine Kedar Dhume.
Congratulating the author on his new book, Bollywood actress Pooja Bedi said, “In today’s political environment it is important to have debates, because everybody is entitled to an opinion.”
Highlighting the importance of the voices of the youth, Shrinivas Dempo said, “We are such a large population that it is crucial to know what is occupying the minds of our youngsters. The mind space that Rajdeep spoke about in the book is identifying the issues relevant today. We need to change with time.”
Speaking about the Goa launch, Rajdeep Sardesai fondly remembered his father, Goa’s first and only test cricketer late Dilip Sardesai and said, “I am glad I could release the book here in Goa where I belong to.” Further he said, “There is not much written about Indian elections and that is something that motivated me to write my books that majorly delve into politics and the election results.” Earlier welcoming the audience, Kedar Dhume said the magazine was proud and privileged to host the Goa launch of the book, considering that Sardesai is an illustrious son of Goa and an award winning journalist.
The book launch was followed by a discussion with the authoer moderated by senior journalist Vikant Sahay.
