PANAJI: Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, spoke in Konkani in the Upper House during the discussion on the Union Budget, saying Goa’s voice and aspirations should be heard in its own language at the national level.

He outlined the Budget’s focus on development, economic growth and governance centred on people. Tanavade said the proposals would benefit Goa across tourism, agriculture — with attention to cashew and coconut — infrastructure, fisheries and job creation.

He added that the Budget sets the base for a Viksit Bharat, aiming for inclusive growth while expanding opportunities for young people, farmers and small entrepreneurs. He said it shows the government’s push for balanced regional development and responds to the expectations of people in Goa.
