PANAJI: The Goa Union of Journalists (GUJ) condoles the passing away of veteran journalist, poet, author and GUJ member Sanjeev Verenkar.
Verenkar breathed his last on Friday while undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim. He was 64 and is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Verenkar, a prolific author, sensitive poet, and responsible journalist, was born on August 29, 1959, at Savoi-Verem, Ponda. Verenkar started his career in journalism with Sunaparant in 1987. He later joined Navaprabha and retired from the same publication.
The Goa Union of Journalists conveys its deepest sympathies to the Verenkar family.
