Man booked for pouring boiling water on dog in Velim

Cuncolim police have registered an FIR against a man from Velim under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act for allegedly pouring boiling water on a community dog.

The police action follows a complaint lodged by Raj Pratik of the District Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, South Goa.

In his complaint, Pratik stated that on April 4 at around 10.15 hrs, at Carxetta in Velim, the accused deliberately poured boiling water on a community dog named Brutus, causing severe inflammatory skin injuries and loss of hair.

A case has been registered against the accused under Section 325 of the BNS and Section 11(1)(l) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
