Rupesh Malik was on Friday elected unopposed as the Sarpanch of Morle Panchayat in Sattari taluka. The post had fallen vacant following the resignation of former sarpanch Amit Shirodkar. While panch members, Ruchita Mainkar, Bhagyashree Gaonkar, Maso Tanodi, Shobha Gaonkar, and Ranjana Gawas, were present at the meeting, Amit Shirodkar was absent. Since only one nomination was received, Rupesh Malik was declared elected unopposed as sarpanch of Morle Panchayat. Later speaking to reporters, Rupesh Malik said former sarpanch Amit Shirodkar had made significant contributions towards the development of the panchayat area during his tenure. He assured that every effort would be made to continue developmental works in the remaining term. “All panch members would be taken along in carrying out essential development works. Special focus would be given to the development of the panchayat area under the guidance of local MLA Deviya Rane and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane,” he said. Following his election as Sarpanch, several party workers, local residents, and well-wishers visited the panchayat office and congratulated Rupesh.
