PANAJI: South Zone's A. Yogesh clinched the first place in the 200 metres run on day 2 of the All India LIC Games 2023-24, on Wednesday.
Dhiraj Mishra from Western Zone clocked 23.0 sec to finished in second position while V. Vivek of south central zone had to settle for third place in 24.4 sec.
In the 200 meters run women, Neeta Mathew of South Zone won the run in 27 seconds.
In the men's discuss throw, the North Central Zone swept the charts. Anshu Rai (48.71 meters), Shivam Singh (36.93 meters) and Amit Kumar Singh (36.15 meters) were the respective winners.
In women's discuss throw event, U. Vasumathy of South Zone covered a distance of 32.72 meters to win the event. In the men's 10000 meters run, Western Zone's Kalidas Hirave crossed the finish line in 31:21.9 sec to win the event. Pramod Singh Patni (32:40.1 sec) and Sandip Kumar (37: 48.1 sec) finished in second and third places respectively.
