CANACONA
The famous five-day Rathsapatami Zatrotsav of Shri Mallikarjun Devasthan at Shristhal, Canacona will begin from Sunday.
On Sunday morning, the Shree Mallikarjun Abhishek will take place, before the idol will be placed in the chariot and taken in a procession. The play ‘Jai Jai Gaurishankar’ will be performed, followed by the Mahaprasad and then Shristhasthawasi artistes will perform.
On Monday, the Vijay Rath procession will be conducted, followed by Maha Puja at 9.30 pm, and later, the Marathi comedy drama ‘Abol Preeti Abol Kahani’ will be presented by the Agonda drama artistes.
The rituals on February 4 will include a procession, followed by the Maha Puja, Mahaprasad and the play ‘Premache Apple’ will be presented by the drama artistes of Gulem.
On February 5, the rituals will include a procession and Mahaprasad, followed by the Vijayawada drama artistes who stage the play ‘Shivacha Raza’.
On February 6, the Abhishek will be held followed by Havan, Rathodapan, Shree’s Rathorehan and Mahapuja. The Nuvekar Drama Artistes will present the play ‘Megha Gorjan’ at 10.30 pm.
This year, for the first time, a new idol will be placed on the chariot, which was recently acquired from artisans in Belgaum.
