The Women’s Wing of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) held its felicitation council meet at Calangute. An initiative started two years ago, the council has Deepali Naik, director, Women and Child Development, Inseyeh Ali, Forum for Innovation, Incubation, Research and Entrepreneurship (FIIRE), Adv Priyanka Kamat Shetye, chartered accountant Swatee Rane and GCCI Women’s Wing chairperson Pallavi Salgaoncar. The council holds meetings at regular intervals with women entrepreneurs and self-help groups to appraise them of the schemes available for them and resolve their queries. The meeting was coordinated by Sonali Walke Nagvenkar, member of WW in association with ex-sarpanch and social worker Sudesh Mayekar, community resource person Nita Kerkar and Nivedita Mathkar. Resource persons from various departments were also available along with Geremina Araujo, industry inspector from EDC, Muriel Braganza, deputy manager from Food and Drug Association, Rajaram Patil, senior food safety officer and Madhav Kavlekar, food safety officer. Reema Parsekar from Women and Child Development, Rohit Meshram, branch manager, Calangute to explain various schemes and programmes.
