The Goan Outreach Association of Mumbai held their annual Carnifest 2024 at the Fatima High School Quadrangle in Vidyavihar on February 11. The event was filled with festivities, colourful clothes, music, and fun. This year, Aurelio Viegas who is a Goan Konkani writer and author graced the occasion as King Momo, along with Queen Mimi, his wife Lilian Viegas. Together, they declared the Carnifest 2024 open and led the Carnival parade around the Fatima High School, Quadrangle, while Goan Konkani music performed by the late Konkani singer Alfred Rose's siblings, Engelbert and Alria, who rocked the event. Special Chief Guest for the function was Diana, President of Rajasthan Goan Association. Sebastian (Saby) Sequeira, the founder trustee of the Goan Outreach Association, greeted each visitor and conveyed his thanks and admiration for the excitement displayed by the Mumbai Goans and those from other groups who attended in great numbers. Stanley Fernandes and Able, the event hosts, had the audience up and dancing with a variety of games and entertaining activities. The winners received the awards at the hands of King Momo and Queen Mimi. A lavish buffet with Goan specialties like san'nas, chicken roce, and pork chilly was presented. The Association President, Wency Pereira, gave a thank you address to conclude the programme, inviting everyone in attendance to join them for their upcoming Sao Joao Festival in June.
