The Goa State Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation Ltd (GSSTFDCL) has extended the Short Term Loan scheme for education purpose for purchase of mobile and wifi connectivity for educational use to needy student (economically weaker section) of ST Community.
As the whole world is hit by Covid 19 pandamic and has disturbed the life of every common man in various ways, educational institutes in the State of Goa have started online classes for students. It has been observed that many students from the rural areas belonging to ST Community are unable to attend online classes since they cannot afford to buy smart phones and wifi connectivity which are required to attend online classes or access online education contents.
The key feature of the scheme are such as, the scheme is available to needy student (economically weaker section) of ST Community, the loan amount is given to purchase mobile and wifi connectivity for education purpose only, maximum upto Rs. 15,000/-. The loan amount is sanctioned by committee members depending upon the financial position of the student.
