Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho on Monday evening launched the work on the new water pipeline in Dabolim area in the presence of Chicalim Sarpanch Kamla Prasad Yadav and other residents. Speaking to reporters, Godinho said the project has been taken up at a cost of Rs 32 lakh to tackle the issues of water scarcity in the area. "We have launched the work on a new pipeline for water supply and we are also going to have a huge water storage tank in the vicinity soon. We will take up maximum works in Dabolim constituency, whether government-initiated or panchayat-initiated projects and we want to complete maximum projects in this area within the next two years," said Godinho. Chicalim Sarpanch Kamla Prasad Yadav said the people faced a lot of issues with water supply in the area. "Godinho has followed up with the PWD to get this work sanctioned. He has assured to cover the entire Dabolim area in phases within the next few months and we will get 24-hour water supply in full pressure," said Yadav.
