MOHAN Foundation, in association with SOTTO Goa - NAVE JIVIT - conducted an organ donation awareness programme at St Mary’s Convent High School, Mapusa recently.
The speaker for the programme was Dr Preeti Varghese, Joint Director of SOTTO Goa and NAVE JIVIT, the organ transplant programme initiative of the Goa government.
Dr Varghese showed a PowerPoint to the students. The session was very interactive, with students asking various questions like, “When skin donation is done, does it need a Green Corridor?” Dr. Varghese explained all about the Green Corridor.
The session ended with the showing of a short video ‘Live Beyond Life’, a short-animated presentation on organ donation by Shweta Gupta. Around 200 students from grades 8 through 10 attended, along with teachers and the principal.
