The North Goa Collectorate and the Bicholim Mamlatdar’s office in association with the Goa Medical College conducted a plasma screening camp for Covid recovered patients at the Sankhali Municipal Council (SMC) hall on Saturday.
Bicholim Mamlatdar Pravinjay Pandit, SMC Chairperson Yeshwant Madkar, Dr Sachin Palyekar, Dr Shreya Sarvankar and Dr Peidade Fernandes were present at the plasma screening camp.
In his welcome address, Pandit appealed to Covid recovered patients to donate their plasma to save the lives of Covid patients with comorbid conditions. Dr Sachin Palyekar briefed the plasma donors about the screening procedure. Samples of 22 Covid recovered patients were collected by a medical team of GMC.
Incidentally, SMC Chairperson Yeshwant Madkar and a municipal staffer also gave their sample during the plasma screening camp.
