ANC arrests Diwar man with drugs worth Rs 2.4 lakh

Anti Narcotics Cell of Goa Police late on Thursday night arrested a 29-year-old man at Diwar, Tiswadi with greenish leafy substance suspected to be ganja worth Rs 2.4 lakh in the international market.

ANC team led by Sub-Inspector Pritesh Madgaonkar raided a garage at Innan Waddo, near Lord Redemptor Chapel at Diwar and caught the owner of the garage, accused Eduardo Pinto (29) for being in illegal possession of alleged ganja weighing 2.5 kg. The approximate worth of the suspected ganja is Rs 2.5 lakh in the international market. The accused has been booked under the relevant sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotrop[ic Substances Act, 1985.

Centre sanctions 100 electric buses to KTC
