The Goa State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority South Goa and ARZ (Anay Rahitya Zindagi) organised an awareness programme on Legal Services and combating Sex Trafficking in Goa as part of PAN India Awareness and Outreach Campaign at Kadamba Bus stand Margao and Colva Beach. 

Sayonara Telles-Laad, Member Secretary of Goa State Legal Services Authority spoke on the availability of free legal services and the benefits of Alternate Disputes Redressal Forum like Lok Adalat and mediation for quick disposal of cases.

Arun Landry, Director of ARZ Spoke on the ill effects of human trafficking and curbing sex trafficking in Goa. Anil Scaria, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority South Goa proposed the Vote Of Thanks. Maria Angelica compered the event.

Drishti lifesavers avert suicide at Colva

MARGAOAlert Drishti lifesavers on Tuesday averted a suicide by a 29 year old male at Colva beach, hailing from Mysuru-Karnataka. The incident occured early Tuesday morning at Colva beach when a Drishti lifesaver noticed a fully clothed male walking into the sea. Noticing that something may be amiss, the lifesaver followed the male into the waters and called for backup. The lifesaving team on backup rushed to assist and the male was brought back ashore.
