The Catholic Association of Goa (CAG) will remember Mahatma Gandhi in a special way on Sunday, which is commemorated across the nation as Martyrs Day. Stating that the All India Catholic Union (AICU), a 102-year-old organisation, is commemorating this day around the country, the CAG stated in a press note that it is offering its solidarity with the AICU. “The Marty’s Day observance will be silent, without speeches, slogans or political signage. The two messages which CAG would like to communicate with the community in Goa is, first, and has always been, peaceful and peace loving, the second message is that the Church does not believe in religious conversation by frauds or force,” stated the CAG.
