Dalgado Konknni Akademi is celebrating the 80th birthday of renowned Poet Cirilo D Fernandes.
To mark this occasion, DKA has organized a special function to be held at the writer’s residence at Melant, Benaulim on July 7, 2021, at 11.30 am. On this occasion, a book of his latest poems ‘Maim Mhaka Gõy Zai’ will be released to honour him on this auspicious day.
Fr Anthony Rodrigues, Parish Priest of Holy Trinity Church, Benaulim will be the Chief Guest for the function and Vincy Quadros, President of Dalgado Konknni Akademi will preside.
A tiatrist and poet, Cirilo D Fernandes was born in 1941 at Benaulim, Salcette. He completed his elementary education in Portuguese and thereafter completed his tenth. At the age of 12, he wrote his first poem stepping into the world of literature. In his lifetime he has written short stories, Poetry, One-Act plays, Tiatrs.
