An inter-school quiz competition (Mapusa level) was organised by Dnyanprassarak Vidyalaya, Mapusa in association with The Rotary Club of Mapusa on the topic ‘India’s freedom struggle’ in the school auditorium. Renowned Historian and heritage activist Prajal Sakhardande was the chief guest. The other dignitaries present were Headmaster Gurudas Palkar, manager of the school Damodar Natekar, President of the Rotary club of Mapusa Siddhesh Kotkar and others. Sakhardande spoke about the lesser known youngest youth who fought for India’s Independence. He remembered the unsung freedom fighters, who became martyrs of Goa and sacrificed their life to achieve freedom. He said that he was saddened to see the ruthless competition going on among the parents of children to obtain a good percentage. He said in a competition, participation is the most important thing. The Quiz began with the declaration of the top five teams after they cleared the written test out of the 10 teams from Mapusa schools. Saraswat Vidyalaya won the first place while the second position was grabbed by the students of G S Amonkar Vidya Mandir and Shree Ganesh High School bagged the third place. Vote of thanks was proposed by Pratiksha Gojekar and the event was anchored by Shambhavi Sinai Karapurkar.
