MARGAO: Dr Babita Prabhudesai has been installed as the new president of the IMA Margao branch. The IMA Margao branch held its 1st physical CME meet on Sunday by observing social distancing. The installation ceremony of the new IMA Margao committee was carried out at the hands of Chief Guest Dr Sicletica Rebello.
Dr Suraj, the outgoing President welcomed the gathering, while Dr Jagruti the outgoing Secretary spoke about the activities carried out by IMA Margao branch in the year 2020. Dr Yogesh Shetye spoke produced the account statement for the past year.
Dr Babita Prabhudessai, incoming president spoke about the vision for the new year and the plans of the new committee. “We were honoured to have our State IMA President Dr Buvaji who spoke about mixopathy and the steps IMA is taking to protest against it." Guest of Honour was Dr Mahadev Dixit Senior Cardiothoracic surgeon who was also the speaker for the evening and spoke on the topic : Lifestyle modification to prevent heart disease. Felicitation of the Covid warriors was done at the hands of Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and State IMA President Dr Priyanka Kamat Dhakankar. Hon secretary of IMA Margao proposed the vote of thanks.
