A 21-year-old resident of Mapusa was arrested on charges of illegal possession of narcotics drugs, Calangute Police said. The accused, Bharat Halakir, was found with illegal possession of 483 gms of Ganja worth Rs 48,300.
The contraband was found in his Activa scooter.Police conducted the panchanama and seized the drugs. An offence was registered under the relevant NDPS Act, 1985 against the accused who was later arrested. The accused has been remanded to two days police custody. Calangute Police are investigating further.
