A delegation of Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) led by president Ralph De Sousa met the newly appointed MD of GIDC Vandana Rao, IAS in the GIDC office. Rao is also the director of the Department of IT. The GCCI team consisted of Yatin Kakodkar (hon secretary), Manguirish Pai Raiker (past president), Gautam Raj (chairman, industry committee), Milind Prabhu (chairman, IT & star-tup committee) and the GCCI director Sanjay Amonkar. GCCI president appraised Rao on the various matters of industrial interest, and stated that IAS officers taking charge of GIDC is a positive and welcome change. During the meeting matters related to ease of doing business, fiscal and legal issues and infrastructural requirements in industrial estates were discussed. Rao informed that she will look into these matters and requested for more inputs. Milind Prabhu thanked the IT department for releasing the new IT and start-up policy. As release of rebates, though cleared by the high-powered committee, were not disbursed, Rao was asked to look into the matter.
