Goa Revolution Day to be celebrated on June 18

The State government will be celebrating Goa Revolution Day at 8.45 am on Friday, June 18, 2021.  Governor of Goa Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will lead the people of the State in paying floral tribute to the martyrs at the Martyr’s Memorial at Azad Maidan, Panaji. 

The function will be held by observing social distancing norms. The function shall not be open for any guest or the general public given Covid. Goa freedom fighter association and school children are also not allowed to participate in the function. 

Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Kavlekar will preside over the function at Lohia Maidan, Margao. This function will be organised by the Collectors of South Goa District, in coordination with Public Works Division VIII, Fatorda Margao, Margao Municipal Council and Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services.

Minister for Art & Culture Govind Gawde will preside over the function at Kranti Maidan Ponda.

Distribution of saplings at Chimbel on June 14

OLD GOAMount Carmel Conservation Association of Chimbel will distribute saplings of fruit-bearing plants on June 14 near the open space at St Francis Xavier Cross at Chinchwada-Chimbel.The fruit-bearing plants include guava, wood apple, awla, kokum, drumstick, curry leaves and lemon. People who are willing to plant trees and take care of them may avail of the opportunity.
