In an effort to boost eco-friendly and sustainable tourism, a lifestyle resort in South Goa will be partnering with impact start-up Boon to install a water bottling plant to prevent an estimated 50 tons of carbon emissions and eradicate use of around 350,000 plastic bottles annually. This will be an automated sustainable drinking water bottling plant at Alila Diwa Goa’s property, in partnership with Boon (formerly known as Swajal WaterCube). The resort also sees to it that it creates a minimal environmental impact by using primarily local materials and working with the environment to preserve indigenous ecosystems. The Zero Mile Water program works on the circular economy principle, where an automated in-house system washes, sterilizes and fills glass bottles.
