PANAJI: Goan Veterans lost to the Portuguese Veterans 2-4 in a friendly match during a Goodwill visit to Portugal recently.
At Atletico Clube De Porto Salvo, the Goa Veterans led by Agnelo Fonseca scored through Pele Fernandes and Fr Salvador Carvalho via penalty.
The second match was played under the floodlights at Complexo Desportivo Municipal De Ouressa (Arsenal 72). The Goa Veterans managed to hold the Portuguese Veterans 4-4 with goals from Eddie Fernandes, Pele Fernandes, Hipolito Dias and Abram D'Mello, in reply Oscar, Balde, Francisco and Fernando found the for the Portuguese side.
The Goa team comprised of Eddie Fernandes, Agnelo Fonseca, Fr Salvador Carvalho, Alberto Pinheiro, Luis Vas, Abram D'Mello, Jose Antao, Jeetu Parkar, Hipolito Dias, Pele Fernandes, Pio Agnel Fernandes and Francisco.
