Gomantak Goud Maratha Samaj celebrated its 59th annual day at Ponda on the occasion of Naag Panchami. Many government officials belonging to community were felicitated on the occasion. Gomantak Goud Maratha Samaj also distributed scholarships to meritorious students of Std X and XII board exams. Speaking on the occasion, Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar stressed on unity among the community members.He said that there are attempts are being made by certain people to divide and abolish the identity of Bhumiputra, orginal settlers of Goa. While highlighting various issues, Gaonkar also said that the community members should not bow down to any gimmick that is being made to divide the people.President of Gomantak Goud Maratha Samaj Madhu Gaonkar welcomed the dignitaries.
