Illicit liquor seized in Vasco-Yesvantpur train

While looking after protection of railway passengers, passenger areas and railway property, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the South Western Railways has also been on the lookout for suspicious luggage and illegal trade activity.

During a routine check inside the Vasco-Yesvantpur train at the Kulem railway station, a RPF constable found an unclaimed plastic bag in the compartment for disabled.

The bag was containing 12 liquor bottles of whisky valued at Rs 3,600. These liquor bottles were seized and handed over to the excise Inspector at Sanguem for further action.

In another incident, RPF staff at Castlerock detained an authorised vendor on charges of selling duplicate water bottles in the Vasco-Nizamuddin train. As many as 156 duplicate water bottles have been seized from him and a case has been registered at the Castle Rock outpost under various sections of Railways Act.

PANAJIThe Office of Employment Exchange (South), currently located at 2nd floor, Blessing Pioneer Commercial Complex, Opposite District and Session Court, Margao, will be shifted to new premises from June 1, at Room No. 60, Mathany Saldanha Administrative Complex (MSAC), Margao, as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity.
