Indian Medical Association, Bicholim, in association with Lions Club of Bicholim and Inner Wheel Bicholim recently conducted an awareness program on women’s health in which 50 women participated and got their health checked. The local MLA and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Rajesh Patnekar was present. Two initiatives related to women’s health “ ‘From Womb to Tomb’ by Dr Kashish Patnekar and ‘Covid vaccination for pregnant women’ by Dr Shekhar Salkar, also a past president of IMA Goa and Lions Club of Bicholim. IMA Bicholim current president Dr Medha Salkar welcomed the gathering and appealed to all ladies present to spread awareness on vaccination. “Do not fall prey to misconceptions spread via social media by some miscreants,” she advised. Aruna Wadkar, in-charge of self-help group was present too.
