One booked for sexually assaulting minor girl

The Maina-Curtorim police have registered a case of kidnapping and for sexual assault against a 22-year old person for impregnating a 17-year old girl.

Acting upon the complaint filed by the victim’s parents, the Maina-Curtorim police have registered the accused person for befriending the victim and later sexually assaulting the girl.

The girl is believed to have delivered a child recently. The Maina-Curtorim police is investigating.

Apex court likely to hear MLAs disqualification plea on Mon

PANAJIThe Supreme Court of India has placed the plea of former State Congress president Girish Chodankar seeking a direction to Goa Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar to decide the disqualification petition against the eight Congress MLAs who defected to the BJP last year on its Board and may hear it on Monday.Chodankar has urged the Apex court to direct Tawadkar to give his verdict in the petition pending before him for over a year.
