An orientation programme for first year students was organized by Swami Vivekanand Vidyaprasarak Mandal's College of Commerce recently. The ceremony began with a prayer by the second-year students. Prof Shekhar Sawant welcomed all and informed the college curricular activities, including the rules of exams and 75 % attendance. The principal of the college Dr Subrahmanya Bhat spoke on the college website and elaborated on lessons learnt during the pandemic. The coordinators of the various departments of the college briefly explained their respective departments. Student council convener Gayatri Behare explained the work of the student council. Cultural Council Convener and NSS programme officer Kunal Borkar mentioned about the students who get selected every year in the RD Camp of NSS. Sports education director Yashodhan Kharade talked about the success of children in the field of sports and librarian Sonia Desai informed about the collection of the college library. Each teacher and non-teaching staff introduced themselves. The programme ended with songs and dances performed by the students. The programme was anchored by Prof Kunal Borkar.
