PANAJI
Parishioners of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church at Panaji marked the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence on Sunday with the hoisting of the flag by Parish Priest Fr Walter de Sa, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The Preamble of the Constitution was read out to inculcate in the peoples the values of justice, freedom of expression and worship, equality and fraternity, and to motivate them to safeguard the secular and democratic fabric of the country. The ceremony ended with a special prayer seeking God’s blessings, protection, peace and harmony among the peoples.
