Members of the Mt Carmel Conservation Association of Chimbel and locals planted around 175 saplings of plants, which included fruit and medicinal plants, along with crotons.
The saplings were planted in and around the heritage site of the ruins of Mt Carmel chapel on Sunday.
The saplings were provided by the Forest department.
