Aam Admi Party Benaulim MLA Capt Venzy Viegas along with victims of a Rs 55 lakh Job for cash scam lodged a complaint with the South Goa Superintendent of Police, Akshat Ayush at the district police headquarters on Thursday. The Benaulim MLA later explained to the media outside the South Goa district police headquarters that the scamsters seem to be operating without the fear of the law and targeting innocent Goan job seekers. He said these scamsters would be behind bars if the police were actually given a free hand to catch criminals, adding that it is apparent that the hands of the authorities are tied. He blamed the government’s negligence behind Goan job seekers falling to the prey of these scamsters. “Because of the negligence of the government towards providing jobs to Goa's youth, many desperate job seekers fall prey to scamsters”, he added. Saying that he has taken up cudgels for the victim as a first step, Venzy said he will be following up to ensure that job seekers don't face any further scams and those affected by this job scam will receive justice.
